Notice something missing this year?

We had Bebe fly out from Atlanta to stay with the girls so Josh and I could run Hogs Hunt together this year. Well, together isn’t exactly the right word. Josh moved up this year to the 50K race (!!) and so he started an hour earlier than I did as I was running “just” the 25K.

We both had really great races despite the heat (the past two years it was 45* at start time, this year, it was 79*). It was a lot of fun to go to a race with just the two of us and it was really nice to not have to share our post race Fritos and Mexican Cokes with toddlers

We’re so happy to have had Bebe out for the weekend

And something tells me she had a pretty good visit as well

Anyway.

We’re about ten days into this little homemade laundry detergent experiment and it’s going fabulously! Eliza has spent an entire week in diapers washed with the homemade stuff and both she and the diapers are doing great!

For those with the sensitive skin questions, she tends to be fairly sensitive on her bottom, but no rashes or redness! That means the diapers are getting clean and there’s no residue left on them to cause any sort of an ammonia reaction (CDing moms know what I’m talking about!)

Still, pleased as punch with this detergent! The jug is almost halfway gone (we do so much laundry around here!) so I think I’ll experiment with some scented detergent next time.

I made a rookie mistake going on spring break. It was crowded and the picking wasn’t very good, but the girls had fun anyway.

It’s been fun every year going (this was Marion’s third time!) and seeing how much further down the row Marion would get away from me without being scared.
