We’ll see how this goes
Already, I can hear my husband laughing.

Flowers of the week this week are courtesy of my sister!
The flowers are so big and over the top, it was hard to get any close ups
They are just amazing though!

This weeks flowers are more than just flowers, they somehow also stand for what I’m learning right now.

This week, irises.

“Irises are delicate flowers, and have one of the shortest cut flower vase lives at just 3-6 days.” Source Which I know, so I’m not sure what attracted me to them this week, especially since these weren’t in peak when I bought them.

But as they’ve been dying, I’ve been seeing their beauty everywhere.

There’s beauty in the way they shrivel at the edges,

And how they become transparent.

They still have bright spots though.

So, so delicate.

There’s a dignity about them as they fade.

They don’t bend at the stems like tulips, or drop their petals like roses.

Instead, they just seem to curl up on themselves.

They say that as we age, we revert to infancy in so many ways,

Which is degrading to think about,

But it doesn’t mean it can’t be done with dignity,

As long as you can open your eyes to the beauty.

“Life is an unanswered question, but let’s still believe in the dignity and importance of the question.” Tennessee Williams

This week, spring!
Courtesy of Holland, because as far as I can tell in Houston, it just goes from pleasant to hot and skips that nicely warm stage.
Notice my sweet Bunco score? Thanks Kelly!
Daffodils are such fun, girly flowers.

We’ve been flower-less these last two weeks since I refused to pay the inflated Valentine’s Day prices. Josh ran out to the store on Sunday though and came home with these gorgeous tulips – post V-Day sale
Tulips were our wedding flowers and as such, we both love them.
Just one for my desk
Thanks Brenda
If I can’t enjoy the wine glasses, at least the flowers can.
Notice something new? My Valentine’s Day present slash five year anniversary present!

I spent a bit more than our budgeted amount this week, but got three arrangements out of it, so I consider that to be okay.
This week, white hydrangeas and lilac mini calla lillies.
Arrangement on my computer desk
On the dining table
In the bedroom
The sunflowers from last week are still nice
as demonstrated by Gracie Lou

One of my “resolutions” this year is to keep fresh flowers in the house. It’s such a little indulgence, but I just love the feel they give to a house.
This week, sunflowers and belles of Ireland
