Quick update

As I’m pilfering internet from someone and don’t have much battery left…

We survived. The tree in our font yard fell – but it fell into the street. We also had our ceiling in the living room come down due to a leak in our upstairs neighbor’s … but it was just dry wall, not her floor, so it left a big ugly hole in our ceiling, but nothing that should be too hard to fix.

We don’t have power, but are hopeful to get it back on soon. The opposite side of the street all had power turned back on last night, so we hope it’s our side’s turn today. Just pray that nothing catches on fire when they turn the power back on – last night our across the street neighbors had one of their trees start sparking due to lines being down and branches on the lines.

In baby news, neither a hurricane nor a full moon nor an application of prepidil could dislodge this little girl – so we’re bringing out the big guns tomorrow and doing an induction with Pitocin. I’ll be admitted to the hospital at 7:30 and we won’t be leaving without a baby. My BP still isn’t cooperating, so they’re doing this for the health of both of us. It’s not how I wanted things to go, but we’re having to trust that this is the right thing.

We should have internet at the hospital tomorrow, so I’ll try to update from there.

I read and enjoy your blog, and am so very excited for your wonderful new addition. Ike and the resulting storm-related difficulties will make some story for your little one when she asks about the day she was born and her arrival. Sending all very very best wishes to you and your family!!! Having a child is indescribable, pure emotion and excitement, and your life will be forever enriched by this wonderful family you’ve created. Sending smiles and all best wishes!!!
