So this week was her first big protein food – chickpeas! Most of the time, we mix it with a little bit of yogurt for a form of baby hummus.
I can’t wait until she’s old enough for the real deal; it’s something the whole family will enjoy [:)]
However, I used canned garbanzo beans and eek on the amount of sodium in them! I rinsed them off for a long time which should have removed a lot of salt. Two cans made a lot (they require an awful lot of thinning out) so I don’t anticipate needing to make more any time soon. If we do though, we’ll use dried beans this time.
She likes to dip her little puffs in them too [:)] Oh, and a great thing about them is that I can roll them into little balls and she loves to feed them to herself!
