40 Days of Joy and Thanks – Day 20

Can I just laugh at the fact that halfway through the challenge I’m having the hardest time finding joyfulness today.

Today, I’m thankful for modern medicine.

In a few hours, my step dad is going to be undergoing surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his bladder. Thankfully, caught early (like they caught this) bladder cancer is very curable and with frequent checkups, this surgery should be the end of things.

Doesn’t change the fact that it’s still pretty scary though.
